Welcome to The Goose Is Out!
We are Nyge and Sue, and we run regular folk music concerts and singarounds, all in Nunhead, London SE15.
We are proud that all these nights are now held at The Ivy House, which is London’s first community-owned pub (the Goose has community shares!)

The Copper Family at The Ivy House!!! Friday 27 May!!!
It’s always an absolute pleasure to welcome The Copper Family back to the Goose, singing the well-loved songs which have been in their family for generations.
Support tonight will be from some familiar faces (well, familiar to those of you who come to other Goose things!) – Chris Lamb and Creeping Jane. There will be songs well known and less well known, so come and enjoy!
More information about the night here
For Covid reasons, our concerts are still presently restricted to seated only, which considerably limits the number of tickets we can sell (there is no standing room as we don’t want people to be crowded together), so we advise you to get your tickets soon – there were a lot of disappointed people who left it too late to get tickets for our last two concerts.
Tickets £14 from www.wegottickets.com/thegooseisout
If there are any tickets left, they will be £16 on the door.
Singaround at The Ivy House on Sunday 8 May !!!
We are so happy to be able to continue with our live Singarounds at The Ivy House!
Do come along – everybody is welcome, to sing or to listen! You can sing whatever you like – it doesn’t have to be “folk” (whatever that is) and it can be any language.
We don’t use the stage, we don’t use mics, and there is no pressure to sing!
Door 7pm, Singing starts 7.15pm, finishes whenever it seems appropriate ….. usually by 10pm at the latest.
£5 on the door.
Lots more information about the Singaround here !
Unfortunately we are still experiencing some issues with our website. We hope they will be resolved soon.
Profuse apologies for any inconvenience caused!
UPDATED 13 APRIL 2022: Covid precautions we are taking at all Goose events
Okay, this is a duck, but we couldn’t find a picture of a Goose mask!
We are doing all we can to make sure that everybody who comes to our concerts and singarounds feels safe, and we are taking the following precautions.
We will review these on a regular basis and make whatever changes we think are necessary. We know that the people who come to the Goose are sensible and caring people, so we hope you understand why we have these precautions in place! Don’t forget that they are not just to protect you, they are to protect others too! Keep safe, everybody!
The following are what we will have in place as of 22 April, for our next concert with The Eliza Carthy Trio . Our next Singaround on 8 May will be live (HOORAY!!) at The Ivy House. Similar precautions will apply (although the room will be laid out differently)
As vaccination does not seem to prevent people getting/transmitting the Omicron variant (although the symptoms are less severe in those who have been vaccinated) we are no longer asking for proof of double vaccination. For various reasons, we are also no longer insisting that people wear a mask whilst moving about the room at our events. However, we hope that you will continue to take personal responsibility for keeping yourself and others safe as far as possible.
* WE WILL BE RESTRICTING TICKET SALES AT OUR CONCERTS. THE CONCERTS WILL BE SEATED ONLY for the foreseeable future, with social distancing between rows, and THE CAPACITY WILL BE LESS THAN 70% OF WHAT IT IS NORMALLY.
* PLEASE TAKE A LATERAL FLOW TEST WITHIN 24 HOURS OF COMING TO THE CONCERT. IF IT IS POSITIVE, PLEASE DO NOT COME!
* IF YOU ARE NOT FEELING WELL OR HAVE ANY SYMPTOMS WHICH COULD BE COVID, PLEASE DO NOT COME!
* If you have bought advance tickets, please let us know as soon as possible if you have a positive test or symptoms on the day of the concert , and we will give you a credit for a ticket to a future concert when hopefully you will be better.
*Please do feel free to contact us if you have any queries about any of the above.
We hope you will have a great time at all the Goose events you come to, and we hope to see you soon!
Concert postponed :(
We are sorry to say that due to the ongoing Covid situation we have reluctantly decided to postpone our concert on Friday 28 January with the fantastic Kit Hawes and Aaron Catlow.
If you had bought tickets for this, you will have been contacted by WeGotTickets. We will let you know as soon as we have a new date, when hopefully this depressing time will be in the past.
Please contact us if you have any queries.
