Creeping Jane are Nygel Packett and Sue Whitehead, who started the Goose in 2008 and have been running it ever since.
The Scarecrow in the background has nothing to do with Creeping Jane, who are named after a song about a horse. The scarecrow used to be called Dave, then he became Little Frank, then when Little Frank’s head disintegrated, he became Dave again.
If you have ever wondered where Nygel’s clothes go when they finally fall apart, this is where …..
Nyge and Sue have gradually progressed from singing rather quietly at Goose Singarounds to singing rather loudly on a stage.
They apologise to audiences at open mics elsewhere who had never heard unaccompanied folk songs before (but were remarkably tolerant and even in some cases interested 😀 )
They are learning Creeping Jane (the song). Well, they had to really, didn’t they 😀
They don’t have any YouTube clips as yet, but they are working on getting one of Sue’s granddaughters to record some 😀 Anyway, they don’t want to scare you away ……
Apart from singing at our Sunday Singarounds and Thursday Club Nights (sadly no more – R.I.P. club nights) Creeping Jane have sung a few songs at Friday concerts with The Copper Family and Leon Rosselson, and will be doing a full 25 minute support (AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH ) for Jackie Oates and John Spiers in June 2020.
