We are delighted to be welcoming back to the Goose Thomas McCarthy, one of our favourite singers.
And even more delighted that he will (or possibly was, by the time you read this!) be awarded the Irish traditional music accolade of Singer of the Year at at TG4’s Gradam Ceoil Award ceremony, to be held in Belfast in February 2019!
Ian Kennedy and Sarah Lloyd will be well known to many (probably most!) of you as not only are they regular singers at our Singarounds and Thursday Club nights, but they have been staunch supporters of the Goose more or less since we hatched from our egg, and are often to be found on the door or at the ticket desk at our gigs.
Since the very first time they sang at a Singaround, back in the day at what was then the Crystal Palace Tavern aka the CPT (now The Great Exhibition, which definitely doesn’t lend itself to Singarounds these days in gentrified East Dulwich) they have gone from strength to strength, and we are delighted that they will be supporting Thomas tonight.
Also supporting Thomas will be some of the other local traditional singers who sing at our Singarounds, but since at the time of writing this (beginning of February) we haven’t actually asked anybody yet, we can’t tell you who they are.
Watch this space!
If you don’t want to pay a booking fee, advance tickets are also on sale at The Ivy House bar (for personal callers only).
