Please note that at present this concert is still scheduled to go ahead, but we are keeping the situation under constant review.
Well we know it’s only a short time since Jackie Oates was at the Goose, but when we heard that she was touring as a duo with John Spiers (he of Bellowhead and Spiers & Boden, both R.I.P.) we just had to book her again. And him! And anyway we love Jackie and her beautiful singing and playing! And John and his beautiful singing and playing!
Here’s the blurb, should you need it … !
Multi award winning contemporary folk duo Jackie Oates and John Spiers meld together their love of English traditional folk tunes and songs with their voices and acoustic instruments, resulting in a fresh sound that is uplifting, joyful and poignant.

David Gunawardana is a Hertfordshire-based singer-songwriter with a love of the folk tradition on both sides of the Atlantic.
Influenced by the folk clubs around Hertfordshire and North London where he first started playing, David sings both traditional material and original songs that suggest ancient lineage.
David released his debut EP – ‘Figures & Faces’ in 2019.
When you hear him, you will totally understand why we booked him 🙂
Er, well, what can we say. We are Nyge and Sue and we are called Creeping Jane after a horse. Who wins a race against all odds, hooray!
We mostly sing folk songs. Sometimes we don’t. This is our first time doing a full 25 minute support. What could possibly go wrong? 😀
Tickets will also be available from The Ivy House bar up to midday on the day of the concert (personal callers only).
Some of our concerts sell out in advance, which is why we advise you to buy advance tickets where possible.
Where concerts are not sold out, tickets will be available on the door on the night. If we are close to selling out in advance, we put this information onto this website and also let subscribers to our newsletter know.
Therefore, if you don’t want to check this website frequently, please subscribe to our newsletter (link on the right!) to be amongst the first to know if you need to buy your tickets soon!
